The Challenge
As part of Hull’s City of Culture transformation, the client required a world-class venue capable of hosting live music, entertainment, conferencing and large-scale events within a single flexible space.
The system needed to support multiple room configurations — from full-capacity performances to divided conference environments — while maintaining consistent audio quality, visual performance and operational control.

Our Solution
Nuway designed and delivered a fully integrated AV and technical infrastructure across the entire venue, creating a system that adapts to multiple event formats.
A high-performance audio system was implemented to support full-capacity live performances, alongside a secondary configuration for smaller, segmented events. Large-format projection and visual systems were integrated to support conferencing and presentation use, ensuring clarity across all layouts.
Lighting systems were designed to support both performance and house requirements, enabling seamless transitions between event types. Automated conference rooms were incorporated to provide flexible breakout and corporate event capability.
A building-wide digital ecosystem was deployed, including IPTV, digital signage and guest WiFi, ensuring consistent communication for both visitors and operational teams. Integrated show relay video and communications systems allow coordination between front-of-house, backstage and production teams, creating a fully connected venue environment.
All systems were underpinned by a robust network infrastructure that supported AV distribution, control, and ancillary services across the building.

Connexin Live now operates as a fully adaptable, world-class performance and conferencing venue. By combining high-performance audio, flexible visual systems and a building-wide digital infrastructure, the venue can seamlessly transition between live entertainment, corporate events and community use.
